"Waiting On" Wednesday - Red Velvet and Absinthe by Mitzi Szereto (ed)

"Waiting On" Wednesday spotlights upcoming releases that everyone's excited about (created by Jill at Breaking The Spine.)

The one book I'm anxiously awaiting this week sounds like the perfect read to help usher in autumn, and the dark delights of haunted houses, moonlit walks through the graveyard, and Halloween costumes:

Red Velvet and Absinthe: Paranormal Erotic RomanceRed Velvet and Absinthe: Paranormal Erotic Romance edited by Mitzi Szereto: Red Velvet and Absinthe explores love and lust with otherworldly partners who, by their sheer fantastical nature, evoke passion and desire far beyond that which any normal human being can inspire. Although the greats such as Bram Stoker, Edgar Allan Poe, and Daphne du Maurier are long dead, these contemporary authors keep the Gothic spirit alive and well by interpreting it in new and exciting ways. Red Velvet and Absinthe offers readers a collection of unique and original stories that conjure up the atmospheric and romantic spirit of the Gothic masters (and mistresses) but take things a bit further by adding to the brew a generous dosage of eroticism. Lie back and listen to the wind howling outside your window as you read these stories in the flickering light of a candle, the absinthe you’re sipping warming your body like the caressing touch of a lover’s fingers . . . [Release date: September 13, 2011]

With a foreword by Kelley Armstrong, and stories from the likes of Janine Ashbless and Giselle Renarde, this is a book I'll gladly savour as summer dies away, and autumn comes creeping in.

How about you? What are you anxiously awaiting next week? Share your comments below, because there's no such thing as having too many books in your TBR pile!

  2. I was about to say, "Oooh I have a story in Red Velvet and Absinthe!" but... you already knew that. LOL

Mine is Milady's Bath, the tale of a devoted maid bathing her amorous young mistress after an encounter with a... shall we say, creature?

    Hugs,
    Giselle
