When it comes to editing, any decent editor can provide the basics, correcting your punctuation, capitalization, hyphen usage, split infinitives, dialogue, and more. 

Any good editor goes a step beyond, advising you on point-of-view shifts, mid-story name or pronoun shifts, and why words like ‘really’ and ‘very’ are lazy (and what to do about them).

As an experienced genre editor, I do all those things, but I'm also not going to gasp at your wildest fantasies, balk at your most depraved thoughts, or shake my head at your fantasy tropes, sci-fi technologies, or supernatural horrors. You can’t shock or embarrass me, but I love to be surprised.

• I understand the difference between erotica and smut (and love both)
• I'm familiar with pronoun usage for trans/non-binary, alien, and non-human characters
• I know human anatomy and can keep your sexual experience real
• I'm aware of how context can determine the difference between slurs or terms of affection
• I know the difference between sexual fantasy and SFF magical fantasy and can manage both
• I'm very familiar with the genre tropes and can recognize the difference between falling into them, playing them, or undermining them

SERVICES

Substantive/Developmental editing: Proofreading and Copyediting plus line-by-line editing and advice on structural issues like flow, theme, jargon, tenses, repetition, point-of-view, and more.

        $50 USD / $70 CAD per 5k words

Proofreading & Copyediting: Reviewing your manuscript for spelling, grammar, word choice/usage, punctuation, and formatting (fonts, spacing, breaks, etc.).

        $25 USD / $30 CAD per 10k words
