Transgender Confidential 5: The Rock Star (transsexual chastity comics)

It's time once again to enjoy some illustrated delights, courtesy of the wonderful Shadoman and the team at Amazing Transformation Comics.

If you are new to Shadoman's Transgender Confidential series, it's a series of standalone erotic stories that can be enjoyed at any time, in any order. If you'd like to catch up, you can read my reviews of issues One, Two, Three, or Four, but you can also dive right in with The Rock Star.

The story opens with a talk show exclusive, an interview with music sensation Raven-Wood (aka Ellise Stark), who chooses to celebrate Coming Out Day by revealing to millions that she's transsexual. What follows is the story of her life, from the first inklings of gender awareness through her therapy and surgery to her coming out on nationwide television.

I don't want to say too much about her story, but the bulk of it takes place in a unique mansion setting where Ellis becomes acclimatized to the idea of being transgender . . . exposed to the erotic possibilities . . . and introduced to a whole new life. There are some lovely costumes on display (the lingerie is especially well rendered, and the texture/sheen of Tamiko's nurse's outfit is outstanding), and the contrast between slender, curvaceous young women and the chastity's cages between their legs is delicious.

Shadoman interrupts the story from time to time, returning us to the television interview, with the host (Jack Crawford) making a few lighthearted jokes about intense material and cable television - and the cameraman thinking about how hot it all is - but the show is largely open-minded and supportive. It's a lovely framing device that reminds us, for all the erotic flair of Ellise's journey, her ultimate destination is a familiar one.

As for the transformation, I loved how it happened in stages, one big step after another, allowing us to better appreciate the blossoming femininity of Ellise. There's a scene where she's in bed with Tamika, and we can see her curves, appreciate her new shape, but can also see how there's so much more to be done in terms of muscle definition, skin texture, and facial features. It's that scene that makes the later stage plastic surgery so impressive, while helping us to recognize a bit of the old Ellis in Ellise.

The Rock Star is not just about sex and transformation, though, it's also about the creative process and the music industry itself. There are some wonderful details about songwriting and singing, some naughty bits about lecherous producers, and even a romance behind it all. It's a lovely story of a magnificent woman, one that's accented not defined by the sex. Highly recommended!
