Kelly is a fantastic character, a bold, confident young woman who is living life on her terms. She works as a professional escort, but she is a business partner, not an erotic companion. She knows people, and that is what makes her so successful. When she meets Mike, we get a chance to see just how deeply insightful she is, becoming something more than a companion, crossing a line into friend, teacher, and even therapist.
This is a hard story to talk about, because there are big surprises and key reveals in that second act, and it is not my place to spoil them. The story evolves, and I love how carefully it does. There are family elements that are well-played, friendships that frame the story, and strangers who try to tear it all in two. It takes a while for the erotic aspects to come to the forefront, but those scenes are well done, alternating between sexy and sensual, caring and kinky. I am still surprised by the darkness at the end, and wish there were one more chapter, but I appreciate the fact that it never shies from the truth.
Born in 1971, M.C. Questgend traveled the country with his parents as a military brat. Settling in Texas where he was first introduced to alternative lifestyles, he was able to finish high school and continue his new "hobby" in college. After college, he and "she" returned to start a family, but the strain of his "secret" was too much for his now ex-wife. Married a second time was not the answer, so M.C. has transferred the stress to the pen and keyboard. Writing erotic stories - some loosely based on his and "her" life as well as stories involving aspects of the LGBT community, a community and lifestyle he has come to privately embrace. M.C. Questgend is a pen name used to protect his privacy and anonymity. The intent was to write stories that entertain, inspire and motivate - which are as much sensual and heartwarming as they are sexual and explicit.

As always, Sally, You continue to drive me to write more and not only become bold and take more risks, but doing it without losing myself or the perspective in which I write. You inspire me to stay true to myself. I am surprised that you wanted to see more out of this shorter piece. I thought the story was too long and you were right about the steamier scenes. Maybe I'll put together a follow-up and who knows maybe even a short story series about Kelly... I wonder what your followers think?
