This week's question is:
"Why do you read the genre that you do? What draws you to it?"
Although my library is about as eclectic as a used bookstore hit by a tornado, I focus on 'alternative' titles in my blog because they speak directly to me. They're generally a little outside the norm, and represent an aspect of the imagination that is wonderfully permissive and open to new experiences. The way I see it, reality - and all it's faults and prejudices - is just what we're forced to endure between books. I love the escape factor of alternative fiction as much as I love the comfort of being with friends who understand, and who share my passions.

This week's question is:
What makes up your non-human family?
My non-human family consists of two dogs, as opposite as night and day, but both loved like children. One is a little Jack Russel Terrier, wild and crazy, with an absolute fetish for bologna. The other is a big, sleek, Shepherd/Lab mix who still acts like she's a puppy . . . and will chew anything not nailed to the roof.
