New Arrivals
A pair of new arrivals this week. First up is my backer's copy of BOOM goes the Bride by Valiant Evermech, "A pulpy lesbian romance between an elven thief from another world and a corporate princess whose company is built on her clones." Yeah, I was all over that Kickstarter!
Also heading my way this week was a review copy of Another Kind of Sister by Tanya Mondragon, "a literary fiction novel about Cleo, a trans woman who pledges a sorority and finds herself inside a feminist community that has never had to decide what it actually believes about womanhood." And, yeah, I was quick to accept that request.
Currently Reading
Vacation went well - I managed to polish off 5 books in 6 days, including The Diamond Throne by David Eddings, The Warden by Daniel M. Ford (one instance where I regretted not bringing the sequel), Isle Witch by Terry Brooks (an instance where I regretted not bringing the series), Into the Looking Glass by John Ringo, and The Pyramid of Doom by Andy McDermott.
Now that we're home, I'm catching up on the review pile, alternating between Cake Walk by Douglas Bell (which I'm finding appropriately uncomfortable) and The Duke by Anna Cowan (which isn't what I expected, but a great read).
