Next time my birthday comes around, I seriously need to put Sorcha Rowan in charge! Wow, does she ever know how to make a night special.
Birthday Licks is the story of Allie, a young woman celebrating her twenty-first birthday with a party while her parents are out of town. Some good friends, lots of booze, a sexy DJ, and a few surprise guests are pretty much everything she needs to make it special, and giving into one temptation opens her up to exploring so many more.
I loved how sweet and sensual Allie was, openly curious about her sexuality, and eager to explore all its facets, but in a natural, seize-the-moment kind of way. I will not tell you all the yummy goodness she gets up to, but she crosses a lot of first times off her list, and she enjoys every single one! There is some lovely banter here between friends, some fun sexual innuendo, a few daring moments of near-exhibitionism, and erotic intimacies that will leave you breathless.
As much fun as the story was, though, I think it was the surprise ending that delighted me so. There are consequences to sexual excess, just as there are to wild parties, and sometimes it is the Birthday Licks you never expected that prove to be the most enjoyable.
