Collecting his first three stories of The Stovent Company, The Complete Shrink Inc is not only a wonderful introduction to the world of Taedis, but a great introduction to the world of giantesses and macrophilia/microphelia. While there is often an erotic aspect to the growth/shrinking, what the author chooses to do with it can vary wildly. Here, Taedis offers up a story of fetish and fantasy, one of horror and humiliation, and a third of equal parts both.

Worshipping Claire is the story of a man who had it all, and was bored with it. Mark was rich, powerful, and influential, married to a stunningly beautiful woman, and infatuated with a mistress who catered to his darkest desired. By all accounts he had it made, and was living the good life, but he wanted to give it all up - and by all, I mean all.

With the help of The Stovent Company, Mark signs away his life, his identity, and his very humanity, all to become the miniaturized pet of his mistress. The negotiations alone are a story worth reading, exploring so many aspects of the fetish side of things, and revealing what is plausible, possible, pleasurable, and perishable.

I think what I loved most about this was the honest acknowledgement that, once you become a toy-sized piece of property, you truly are at the world's mercy - your wishes or hopes no longer matter. Yes, Mark has many of his fetishes fulfilled, but he also finds a lot to fear in his new life. Trapped between an owner, a trainer, and a friend, he endures as much as he enjoys.

Micromanaged takes us back to the early days of The Stovent Company and explores how they came to discover the science of miniaturization - all thanks to the botched experiment of an arrogant man who refused to listen to the woman who very quickly comes to have total and absolute control over him.

The sense of discovery here is fantastic, with John completely at a loss to understand where he is or what has happened. His secretary treats him like a lab rat, subjecting him to experiments that are as much for her amusement as for research. There are so many little sensory details here that bring the story alive, like being dropped into a latex condom and pinned to the wall, unable to get comfortable in the elastic surface, and sickened by the smell of latex and spermicide.

On the one hand, this is a total nightmare of fetish, with abuses of power driving so much erotica. There is an intense BDSM scene at the end that is nearly mind-blowing, ending with John forced to climb a sex-slick dildo for his owner's amusement. On the other hand, this is very much a cautionary science fiction tale, exploring the ways technology can go wrong, and discovering how people will exploit the most unfortunate mistakes for their own benefit.

Purse Pet may very well be my favorite Taedis tale, a story of obsession, punishment, and a very peculiar form of pleasure. It actually opens near the end, teasing us with the very real world consequences of a fetish allowed to run amok, with a room full of women meeting to discuss ownership of tiny little Rebecca.

Actually, before we even get to where we are and why, we get an amusing rant about how uncomfortable doll clothes are, and how they never fit quite right. It is a small detail, but the kind of thing that makes the story so much fun.

From there, the story rewinds to the beginning, with a young woman so infatuated by a pop star that she turns stalker, getting caught breaking and entering. Learning that her idol is a lesbian herself, and willing to allow her to work off her sentence, is a dream come true . . . but then comes the condition of miniaturization. The act of giving up Rebecca's life and identity is far more erotic that it should be, a demeaning act of shedding clothes along with legal rights. I loved that scene, especially the verbal humiliation of being reminded, time and time again, of so many 'last times.

Even more erotic, and even more of a surprise, I absolutely adored how Taedis played with the power exchange here, making it something fluid. The scenes where tiny Rebecca dominates her lover, using a tiny bullwhip on her normal-sized nipples, and then using a pair of nipple clamps - bear traps on a chain to Rebecca - to construct a breast swing, is one of the hottest things I have ever read.

The story gets crazy, dangerous, and complicated. You truly do not know what to expect next. By the time it wraps back around to the opening, and we discover what Rebecca's fate is to be, we should be exhausted, but there is fresh tension in those final pages. Absolutely fantastic!
