Looking back on my introduction to the stories of Thomas Pike, it is hard to believe there was only a little over a month between the publication of his Slimy Shemale Inflation and Shemales And Futanari 2 bundles. Both collections are a lot of fun, with some really imaginative details, but it is the refinement of his writing skills from one collection to the other that I find so remarkable.
To be honest, the awkward grammar and mixed tenses throughout Slimy Shemale Inflation were rather distracting - so much so that, had these three stories been my first encounter with Pike, I am not sure I would have given him a second chance. Fortunately, I have seen that improvement, so I have no problem urging readers to be patient and trust that his writing gets better (because it really does).
With that bit of critical commentary out of the way, on to the stories themselves!
Regeneratrix: Cave of Lust was absolutely fantastic, a sword-and-sorcery story of a futa warrior, damsels in distress, and a horny tentacle beast. It is rather intense, and even a bit gory in places, but the dialogue is glorious. From The Ocean It Came is a more subtle story, offering a nice contrast from the first, with some really sensual detail and even a touch of humor. I liked the way it developed, and thought the monstrous pregnancy aspect was well done. Parasite Thickness was a different sort of story again, a sort of parody/deconstruction of the horror genre, that is as wild as its women are wanton. Definitely over-the-top, it uses the idea of a parasitic infection to drive some hot futa transformations and threesome encounters.
Inventive, imaginative, and incredibly erotic, the stories in Slimy Shemale Inflation offer a nice mix of genres, styles, and pairings. Technical flaws aside, they are well worth the read, with Regeneratrix being one of my favorites to date.
