It was a year that had its share of challenges and sorrows, but one that also saw moments of happiness and joy. When I was forced to take an extended sabbatical to deal with the illness (and eventual passing) of my father, the rest of the team stepped up to keep things running. When one of our more active reviewers chose to remove herself from the trans* community, some new faces stepped in to add even more diversity to the shelves.
On behalf of myself, the review team, and all of our authors, I want to extend a hearty 'thank you' to everyone who helped make the year such a success.
With the prospect of a new year dawning bright, I plan to invest a lot more time and effort in making Bending the Bookshelf a success. We are working on some new features, looking to add even more reviewers, and are planning some new activities. At the same time, I would love to make this more of a community, and encourage more discussion.
