Q. Name your top five book boyfriends.

A. I like boyfriends who can also be girlfriends (yeah, I'm odd that way!), so I'll have to go with Toomela (The Egyptian Slave), Ume Sky (The Devil's Garden), Kiyoshi (Soft Focus), Sara (Sarah, Son of God), and Mark/Maisie (Red Satin).

Q. What are you most looking forward to this fall/autumn season?

A. Last year our eldest son decided it would not only be his last Halloween, but that he would be trick-or-treating with his friends . . . leaving me costumed up, with nowhere to go. With our recent addition to the family, however, I get to start all over again this Halloween, introducing a new generation to the joys of trick-or-treating!

Q. If you could change the ending of any book (or series), which book would you choose? Why and to what?

A. Chronicles of Narnia - I would jettison the religious allegory nonsense and let the kids live, as heroes deserve. It's probably been 20 years since I read the series, and it still bothers me how much damage a few pages can do . . . what was, up to that point, a fantastic series quickly earned a one-way trip to the garbage can.

As always, I urge you to hop around to some new blogs, tag along with some new friends, and find some great new reviews to follow. I always find something new to delight me!

  1. Good answer! I'm re-reading a few of the Narnia books for University this year - really bringing me back to my childhood. :)

    Happy Friday!

  4. I haven't read any of your book boyfriend picks. And the halloween with your son breaks my heart. They get big too fast. I am sure I will be facing this soon. My son is turning 10 this month.

    Have a Great Weekend.

  5. This week’s question is perfect for Labor Day weekend with the “official” end of summer and all.

I’m all about fall! I love all four seasons and I’m sorry to see summer go (I hope to get in a few more swims in my pool) but I’m also amped up for Autumn.

    Why?

For most of the same reasons we all like autumn – fall foods, Halloween, the chill in the air, changing leaves and candy corn. But I’ve got a scary slant to why I’m angling for autumn. Hop on over to my book blog at http://www.howardsherman.net to read all about the murder, mayhem, seriously spooky stuff and even some BSP!

    Happy Labor Day Weekend!
