It's time for another Book Blogger Hop, courtesy of Crazy for Books!
This week's question is:
"What book(s) would you like to see turned into a movie?"
"What book(s) would you like to see turned into a movie?"
To be totally and brutally honest, not a single one. The best books never translate well to film. Sometimes the story is too much for a movie and important scenes (to me, at least) get left out; sometimes the true identity of the characters is sacrificed in favour of 'pretty' star/starlet who will bring in audiences; sometimes the technology available simply cannot capture the sheer breadth of the imagination; and, most importantly, I've yet to find a producer and director who share the process going on inside my head. The only way I find I can enjoy a movie is to put the book out of my head and enjoy the movie as a separate creation . . . in which case it's no longer a matter of filming the book, but of raping it for material.
It's also time for the Friday Follow, courtesy of Parajunkee's View!
This week's question is:
"If you are a fan of Science Fiction what is your favorite book? If you haven't read Science Fiction before...any inkling to? Anything catch your eye?"

I'm a sucker for TV tie-ins . . . the old V novels, Quantum Leap novels, and just about any Star Trek novel. More than anything, though, I loves how science fiction experiments with gender and plays with out expectations - this includes so many books in my TBR pile that are clamouring wildy for my attention (The Breeds Of Man, The Left Hand of Darkness, Halfway Human, Don't Bite the Sun, River of Gods, Blindsight, and When Gravity Fails).
