"Waiting On" Wednesday

"Waiting On" Wednesday spotlights upcoming releases that everyone's excited about (created by Jill at Breaking The Spine.)

There are a few new releases I'm tracking this month, both long-awaited sequels to classic works:

Jaclyn the RipperJaclyn the Ripper by Karl Alexander: It's been over 30 years since Karl blessed us with the time-travelling, serial-killer magic of Time After Time, in which H.G. Wells used his time machine to chase Jack the Ripper through time, ultimately stopping his killing spree in 1979 San Francisco before returning home to 1893 London with Amy, the love of his life. In this long-awaited sequel, Amy returns to the present to let her parents know she's OK, accidentally freeing Jack in the process. Transformed into a woman, Jaclyn the Ripper sets out on a new killing spree in 2010 Los Angeles, all the while seeking revenge on H.G. and Amy - both of whom find themselves overcome by the marvels of the 21st century.

Oath of FealtyOath of Fealty by Elizabeth Moon: This time it's been 20 years since Elizabeth's classic trilogy, The Deed of Paksenarrion, featuring one of the strongest, boldest heroines in epic fantasy. Although she has published a few prequels, this is the first direct sequel to Oath of Gold (the final volume of the original trilogy). Revealed as the long-vanished heir to the half-elven kingdom of Lyonya, Kieri Phelan must come to terms with his own half-elven heritage while taking a throne he never wanted. Meanwhile, Prince Mikeli barely survives an assasination attempt at his own coronation, leading him to strike out against the Verrakaien magelords. With two kings standung at a pivotal point in the history of their worlds, only Paks' gods-given magic and exquisite fighting skills can stop the dark forces conspiring against them.

As always, Happy Reading!

  1. Wow, these both sound pretty amazing! I think I'll have to read Tine After Time and then rush out for Jaclyn the Ripper, it sounds that good.
