Hops, Follows, and Tag Alongs, Oh My!

It's time for another Book Blogger Hop, courtesy of Crazy for Books!

"Do you judge a book by it's cover?"

I've never not bought a book because of it's cover, but I have certainly picked one up because of it.

"What's your preference - paperback, hardcover, or electronic?"

I'd have to say electronic first (for the convenience), paperback second, and hardcover last (they look great, but are heavy and awkward).

As always, I urge you to hop around to some new blogs, tag along with some new friends, and find some great new reviews to follow. I always find something new to delight me!

  1. I judge a book by its cover but I agree I dont buy it just because of its cover. I prefer paper back and electronic then hardcover.

Hope you have a great weekend!

  2. I do judge a book by its cover too, but it's not that a big factor when I'm buying books on a whim. I really look out for the synopses to see if they're great. But I've bought books based on their covers a few times too.

New follower from the hop! Have a great weekend :D

  3. A nice cover will get me to look into the book further but I no longer buy a book based on it's cover.
I like paperbacks, then ebooks (although I read in that format most of the time now) HC are just too big and clunky.

  4. My first choice would definitely be paperback, followed by hard cover, with electronic at the last. I've read them but still find them useless. I shake my head every time I have to make the choice.

  5. I prefer electronic, paper and hard cover in that order. Happy Friday!

  6. I think I prefer paperback, electronic, then hardback, in that order. I love my ebook reader, I think it was the best present I got myself for sure.. but I still love my paperback books, because I like to see them on my shelves. And maybe I like to smell them too, what of it? It's the act of seeing the physical book that I love.

But then, my ebook reader holds SO MUCH... much more than my room could hold. Such a dilemma.

  7. I'm the same way! I'll pick up a book because of the cover, but never buy it just because of the cover. I'm already a follower! My FF is at Coffee Table Reviews

  10. I think we can all agree that even the most beautiful book cover can't sell a book if the writing's not there. Book cover art may, at best, help steer me in the book's direction (especially if I'm in a book store) but it's not going to hypnotize me into buying it right then and there.

I expound on all the marketing qualities of a good book. Just follow me back to my book blog - http://www.howardsherman.net

    Thank God it's Follow Friday!?

  11. Thank You For visiting my blog! Happy FF ! I hope you will come back again! I love your answers! Ebooks. But if I got books I prefer Hardcovers.

My favorite couple would be Sherrilyn Kenyons, Dark Hunter, Tabith & Valerius... You cant get any funnier then this....

    "Where are you anyway? (Acheron)
I don't know. I hear some godawful kind of music from outside, horns blaring, and I'm in a house with a Mohawk cuckoo bird, a transvestite, and a knife-wielding lunatic. (Valerius)
Why are you at Tabitha's? (Acheron)"

    Who is yours?

  12. I will admit that I have bought a couple of books based on cover alone. Usually, I am like you and the book makes me pick it up and the blurb sells it. I have also skipped books because I hated the cover only the read the book later and really love it.

  13. Though the covers drag me in, it's really the description that gets me to buy it. Also, I usually have to have read it before.. too often the book does not live up to expectations when bought...sadness.
