Hops, Follows, and Tag Alongs, Oh My!

It's time for another Book Blogger Hop, courtesy of Crazy for Books!

Book Blogger Hop

"If you could physically put yourself into a book or series…which one would it be and why?"

Hmm, that's a tough choice. I guess I'd have to go with Clive Barker's Weaveworld. The world of the carpet is just so beautiful, so magical, and so surreal.

It's also time for the Friday Follow, courtesy of Parajunkee's View!

"give us five BOOK RELATED silly facts about you."
  1. I physically cannot leave the house without a book, even just to run to the store. It gives me a panic attack . . . it's like forgetting your keys or your purse.
  2. I'm either obsessive-compulsive, or a literary completist (take your pick). If I like a book, I absolutely have to explore everything else the author has ever written, hoping the magic will work for me again.
  3. I am, indeed, a bookslut . . . I cannot say 'no' to a good book, no matter how much I can't afford either the money to buy it, or the time to read it.
  4. I look at my library as a form of insurance - I'd rather have a book on my shelf that I'll never get a chance to read, than not have it on my shelf and want to read it some day.
  5. Some of my favourite reads are books that it took me 2, 3, or even 4 attempts to get into.

"Where is you favorite place to buy or swap books?"

Oh, I'll make a point of stopping at any used bookstore that I happen to find in my travels. Sadly, most of the online book-swap sites don't support Canadian readers, but I've always found to be a great place to trade in my used reads.

As always, I urge you to hop around to some new blogs, tag along with some new friends, and find some great new reviews to follow. I always find something new to delight me!

  1. Hi Sally, happy Friday! Hoppin on by for the 18+ I love your list though and am so with you on 1-4 LoL Have a great weekend!

  3. Hopping through on the 18 & over. I travel a lot also I always have to check for used stores where ever I am.

If I buy online I use thriftbooks. I love the no shipping.

    Have an awesome weekend!

  4. Hopping on through via my google reader (because I am already a follower, yay!). I absolutely love your 5 facts, and it makes me feel a lot better to know I'm not the only one!

Except for number 1. I am totally okay with leaving the house to go to work without a book. BUT.. I work in a library, so there's always something I can grab and read.

  5. Hi Sally,

I LOVE your fact 4, the "library as a form of insurance." My eReaders are full of insurance. :-)
I'm one of your new followers; I found you through Bookblogs.

  7. I wish I could shop at indie book stores I just don't live neat any. The closest book store is 30 min away and its Barnes and Noble, so online it is.

    Have a Great Weekend!

  8. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Glad I could make you smile. :) I always have to leave with a book, too! And my phone with my kindle app. I feel incomplete without a book with me.

    Have a fantastic weekend!

  9. Apologies in advance for my answer this week as it will not immediately resonate with the book blogger population which happens to be 99.5% female.

My choice is a book series geared towards guys which won’t enthrall the vast majority of my fellow book bloggers (who are almost entirely female) with the extensive discussion of powerful weapons and sexy milspec gear, beautiful women, eye-popping action sequences (with occasionally obscene violence), and the like.

But there IS something in my answer that just about everyone of the female persuasion can benefit from my decidedly “books for guys” post. Hop on over to to find out what it is.

    Happy Hop Friday!

  10. Thank you for stopping by my blog. I can't leave the house without a book in my bag either. Have a great weekend

  11. Hopping through. I have to have a book with me when I go out too.

  12. Hey Sally!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I like your list. I could almost be guilty of the same of your no.1. =)

    Have a lovely weekend!

  13. Hopping by:) I haven't heard of Weaveworld before but it sounds interesting.

    Have a nice weekend:)

  14. Hi! Fellow erotica reader hopping by to say hi! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

  15. Hopping buy. I think I agree with all of your five points, especially number 1. I've gone back home because I've forgotten a book. Silly I know, but I'm okay with them ruling my life!

Hope you had an awesome week.

  16. Hey! I'm out doing the Hop and I am a new follower with GFC and NetworkedBlogs! Check out my blog and giveaway on
