A very exciting treat for our readers this week, as Michelle Knight stops by in support of The Companion, "a book about BDSM that isn't all fantasy and 50 shades style crap, but really relates the feelings behind it all and allows people to understand."

Michelle is a transgender author from the UK who has spent a chunk of her life as a BDSM submissive, and who decided to turn to writing in an effort to give her audience a taste of her experiences in the scene, along with exposure to some of the realities facing those who live the lifestyle, particularly in British society.

Michelle was first published in 1994 when her short story, Weekend Intrusion, was included in issue #9 of  Pleasure Bound Forum from Olympia Publishing (UK) Ltd. That story would later be expanded and published as Broken Spirits, part of their "New Traveller's Companion Series" in 1996. Another of her shorts, Fun Time, made it in to SM Illustrated Stories Volume 1 in 1995, and this was added to other shorts in 2002 for Genii In A Bottle, which was illustrated by Jorge.

Michelle went on to pen The Companion as a film script in 2005, but after Olympia closed their doors and she transferred to Fiction 4 All, where she translated it into a book and published in 2014. After receiving feedback that people were engaging with the main characters, Michelle then embarked on the Submissive Heart series, with each book highlighting a particular area of the BDSM lifestyle and how it merged in to society.

I'll be reviewing The Companion later this week but, in the meantime, Michelle has graciously offered up 3 copies of the paperback international edition to luck readers in Canada, USA, Europe, and Australia/NZ.
