Hops, Follows, and Tag Alongs, Oh My!

The 18 & Over Book Blogger Tag Along has become the Adult Book Blogger Friday Hop, courtesy of Paranormal & Romantic Suspense Reviews!

It's time for another Book Blogger Hop, courtesy of Crazy for Books!

Book Blogger Hop

Q. How/Where do you get your books? Do you buy them or go to the library? Is there a certain website you use like paperbackswap?

A. I probably buy about half of my books online, the new books through retailers like Amazon and Chapters-Indigo, and the used books through sites like Powells, Thriftbooks, and Abebooks. Sadly, I have yet to find a book paperback swap that accomodates Canada and our ridiculous postal rates. The other half either come to me for review, or are scrounged from whatever used bookstores, thrift stores, or garage sales I can find.

It's also time for the Friday Follow, courtesy of Parajunkee's View!

Q. What do I do when I are not reading?

A. I love the outdoors, the disconnect from the work-a-day work, and the complete absence of technology. I tend to go for long hikes, starting when the sun comes up, and only returning home when the sun comes down. That's probably when I'm at my most adventurous, straying from the path to find something new and unique. I always tell my spouse that the more scrapes and bruises I bring home, the better the hike really was!

As always, I urge you to hop around to some new blogs, tag along with some new friends, and find some great new reviews to follow. I always find something new to delight me!

  4. Thanks for stopping by, I'm following you too.

Your description of the outdoors makes me want to be outside too! It's so hard to find time to disconnect from technology these days. Times have changed, thats for sure.

  6. Hi
Thanks for stopping by Book'd Out earlier!
It's the same here in Australia. It costs me us much to mail a secondhand book to someone as it would to buy it brand new from the bookdepository - so guess which option I'd choose LOL

  10. Used books stores, thrift stores, and garage sales are the best! I buy a lot of books from those types of places, but I also buy used/antique furniture and odd little things so I can refinish/alter them and sell them.

I actually bought 3 antique windows a few weeks ago, lol. Most people would say they are junk, but I used one to make a table, and I'm going to use the other ones as painting canvases. I love other people's junk!

Totally love outdoorsy activities too. I'm always coming home full of bruises and cuts, but as you said, the more bruises, scrapes, and cuts, the better the adventure.

    Have a great weekend!
