In My Mailbox

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.

The Story Siren

A lot of new books again this week - good thing the holidays are coming up, because I need some serious reading time!

You may remember last month when I gushed about the fabulous Fallon Blake, and her interview with Diana over at Book of Secrets.  Well, I was super lucky to win Diana's giveaway, and now have a lovely copy of Wrapped Around Your Finger to enjoy.

Over at Books on Board they have a promotion this week where every book purchased enters you into a draw for a Sony iPad. Never one to pass up a chance to win something AND catch up on my wantlist, I picked up a few short novellas from Stormy Glenn and Jaye Valentine.

My Girl     Happily Ever Before

Over at Kobo Books they had a 30% off sale. Since I can never resist a sale on books, I splurged a bit and grabbed some titles from Morgan Howell and Homer Hickam.

A Woman Worth Ten Coppers     Candle in the Storm: The Shadowed Path Book 2     The Dinosaur Hunter: A Novel

Along the same lines, I was at the mall the other night for a completely non-book related purchase (I promise), but I couldn't resist stopping in at Coles for a moment. Of course, when they handed me one of those 'mystery deal' coupons worth 5% to 100% off, I knew I couldn't resist. So, I grabbed a few books from Amanda Downum, Freda Warrington, and Gena Showalter - and got 25% off.

The Bone Palace (The Necromancer Chronicles)     Elfland (Tor Fantasy)     Awaken Me Darkly (Alien Huntress, Book 1)

Finally, since I can't resist a good deal on used books either, I was tickled pink to receive my latest delivery from Abe Books. This delivery included the lesbian classic The Burning from Jane Chambers, and some hard-to-find transgender novels from Thomas Farrell and George MacBeth.

Skylord     The Transformation

Happy reading!

  1. I feel honored to have made your blog, Sally. Hope you like The Dinosaur Hunter. Carolyn See, always notoriously tough, of The Washington Post gave it a great review even if she called me a "mannerly, old-fashioned gent." I've been called worse and Mom would approve. Enjoy.

  2. Wow - thanks for stopping by, Homer! I have to say I loved Rocket Boys and Back to the Moon, so to have you dig (pun intended) into dinosaurs effectively fulfills the 2 biggest career dreams of my childhood . . . to be an astronaut or a paleontologist. :)
